Peter Whybrow
(left) and Peter Andrews (right) worked together in
Abu Dhabi for many years (1984-98), excavating Miocene deposits at Jebel
Barakah and conducting a series of taphonomic experiments in the inhospitable
Arabian desert environments. This was part of PW's long term commitment to
Arabian palaeontology, dating from early 1973 until just before his untimely
death in 2004.
