Lou Taylor met Will Downs in the early 1970s in Tucson, Arizona.  Introduced by Louis Jacobs, Downs and Taylor became friends and often took part in the same expeditions, but it wasn’t until 2001 that Lou’s life was enriched by spending nearly a month with Will in China.  On that expedition Will, Lou, and their Chinese colleagues experienced the Nanxiong Basin and prospected for screen-wash sites near the Cretaceous/Tertiary Boundary.
