For PE the year 2011 starts with an issue choke full of interesting papers. Seven research articles and one technical paper, for a total of 148 PDF pages (43 MB), plus 3D online files. Furthermore, there is a commentray on fossil collecting, the money and the laws involved. And there is a review of children’s dinosaur book.
The science articles span a wide range of topics, from a classic description of a new species of lobster (Klompmaker and Fraaije) to a new analysis tool written in the programming language R (Vavrek). Interestingly, R is also used in another article by Kallio et al., who look into the importance of different restrictions on the correlation and co-occurrences of taxa. As usual, we’ll detail all contributions in separate posts over the next few days.
